Hummel was the first shirt supplier to have a sponsorship contract with DBU. The contract started in 1979 and initially did not involve Hummel paying; as “payment”, DBU got the kit for free. The first shirts supplied had a classic design, plain shirts featuring only a band with the Hummel chevrons on the sleeves and down the sides of the shirt, as well as a discreet Hummel logo. Masterpieces of simplicity and elegance.
